Present state and development trends

Romanian cities are growing quickly, undergoing continuous transformations under our eyes, as fast as ever before in the course of their history. The present transformation bear the mark of a cultural and economical emancipation of great dimension. But they often have neither the requirements for an efficient functional development, nor those for harmonious formal development. The changes in being, and the urnan planning instruments which are directing them, seems unable to give us the fine town we all wish to live in. Hence we need to steer to a new direction. He could the citizens' wishes to live in a better city join with the developers actions, addressed to create economic advantages?
How could public administrations develop plans and projects able to interatc with the existing cities in terms of urban regeneration?
The conference opens a debate on such themes, inviting to discussion some relevant actors of the urban transformation process (Technical Executives of Municipalities, Developers, Professionals, NGOs) to deal with the following items referring to urban regeneration:
- most relevant experiences in some Romanian cities;
- technical tools and metthods;
- legislation and role of involved official bodies;
regional EU politics and their application;
market conditions: investments, enterprises, job creation
Event schedule:
