How effective urban planning can lead to greener urban communities & economies and promote social cohesion

The workshop will discuss and review examples of successful integrative approaches to urban planning. The workshop will be addressed to national and local authorities, practitioners, academics relevant NGOs and the private sector. The working languages are English, Czech and Russian.
We are now accepting proposals for presentations. Presentations should stress the multi-dimensional nature of urban planning and include themes selected from the following:
Main connections between three pillars of sustainable urban development - urban economy, social cohesion and the environment
Integrative policies: plans and tools to implement them
Civil society and public participation
Affordable or social housing as a tool for social cohesion objectives
Reduction of emissions in the urban environment and adaptation of cities to climate change, including energy efficiency measures in buildings
Relationship between land administration and economic performance
Information sources for urban planning and real property data availability
Contribution of spatial planning to social cohesion
Creation of more liveable communities
Possibilities of transition towards green urban economies
