Introduction - Almere CS - Breda - ‘s-Hertogenbosch - Hengelo - Tilburg - Utrecht

The renewal of station's areas

In 1990 the Second Transport Structure Plan came to light, featuring the Rail 21 plan for supporting Public Transport. This plan forsees high-speed lines to Germany and France.

The progress of privatization of the Dutch railways is quite advanced compared to other European countries. There are now four independent societies; one of them is the NS Station that is responsable for all the 378 station.

Fundamental point is the renewal of the whole station area (called Spoorzone), where offices, hotels, restaurants, stores will be located (but even housing with 400 dwelling units).
