Case Studies - Emilia Romagna - Europe Emilia Romagna - Austria - Belgium - The Netherlands - Switzerland The object of the research was thus to observe and comprehend the scope of the transformations under way in the different medium-small cities of the Emila Romagna region. The study was there conducted with reference to the most significant projects conducted in European cities that have similar developmental and infrastructural characteristics: as they are well established, their results can be clearly assessed. Emilia Romagna The analysis of the public and private projects planned and under way examined thirteen medium-sized cities of Emilia-Romagna: Cesena, Faenza, Ferrara, Fidenza, Forlì, Imola, Lugo, Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Ravenna, Reggio Emilia, Rimini. Europe The research examined a number of European cases, characterized by contexts and dimensions in some way comparable with those of the cities examined by the study: these were medium-sized cities in Austria (Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz), Belgium (Liège Guillemins, Antwerp, Namur), The Netherlands (Almere CS, Breda, s'Hertogenbosch, Hengelo, Tilburg, Utrecht), Switzerland (Basle, Neuchatel, Nyon, Zurich).
