The
Survey is a collection of information about more than 80 journals
published throught Europe. The Survey is the outcome of work begun
more than two years ago. The first result was presented at the II
Biennal of Towns and Planners in Europe (Rome, 8-13 September 1997). We have arranged the gathered data according to a simple format, with 14 categories, describing both journals' physical and cultural features. During these two years, we sent the format to each journal Editor. Almost 50 editors responded to our request. Regarding the others, we were able to draw out data by reading the copies availabe in the libraries. Hence, as everyone may notice, there are many differences between all the formats. This is directly related to the information either provided by the responding editors or drawn from our reading of other journals. The Survey is first organized in alphabethical order by nations: then the journals within each single nation are presented in alphabetical order too. Actually the Survey is open for the public view, but we are searching for every one co-operation. We will be more than happy to receive more details, corrections of any mistakes or errors, updates and revisions of data referring to each journals included in the Survey.  staff@planum.net
