Sociedade e Territòrio is an Urban and Territorial Studies' Magazine, estabilished in 1984 and it is the oldest publication specialized on these subjects, in Portugal. Sociedade e Territòrio has, as redactors and collaborators, a wide list of nationals and foreigners expertees, the most respected in the academic circuit, public administration and liberal professions in their thematic domains.

Sociedade e Territòrio has been developing a profound critical reflexion on urban problems and production processes, space's transformation and possession, pointed issues such as: transportation (n. 7); urban processing in Portugal (n. 10/11, dedicated to Metropolitan Area of Lisbon); geographic information and counties' computerization (n. 16); tertiarization (n. 17); environment (n. 18); forests (n. 19); social housing (n. 20 and 25/26); instruments and territorial projection (n. 22); companies and territory (n. 24); hobbies and turism (n. 28).

Sociedade e Territòrio has been working as well as a valuable instrument of promotion of studies developed by investigators, liberal professionals and students, on urbanism, housing, environment and territory, incentivating the publishing of works of young professionals and academics, especifically giving value to innovation. The Magazine is quested by students, investigators and architecture's and urbanism's professionals.

Sociedade e Territòrio collaborates with Magazines and foreigner instituitions related with theirs expertees' problems. We point out the regular collaboration with the French magazine "Espaces et SocietÈs" and the Spanish "Ciudad y Territorio" (production and edition's exchange of Magazine's Issues) and the collaboration with Spanish, French, Swiss and Italian academics and technics.
