The master course is aimed to provide a strong support basis related to the knowledge of the multifaceted aspects involved in land government, with specific emphasis on understanding of processes within the hydrological cycle, river hydraulics, river-soil-groundwater interactions and integrated management, modern irrigation practices. Aspects related to the proper management of natural resources under scarcity are tackled under both theoretical and practical point of view. Land government issues and alternative scenarios are illustrated within a rational risk-assessment protocol and with reference to practical situations in order to offer the best available basis of knowledge. A final stage offers the students the possibility to work on projects within companies or institutions operating in the field, so that the theoretical knowledge can be applied to field problems.
