INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AND PROJECTS
The Laboratory of Economics, Logistics and Territory gives
its contribution to Regenera, a network within the Urbact EU programme,
a network involving twelve European cities on issues of urban regeneration,
social mixity and accessibility. Within the European Programme URBAN
II in Milan, the Laboratory has the task to define interventions
in the regeneration of derelicted industrial sites and accessibility
improvement in the Milan area.

Two researchers from DiAP, Prof. Antonio Tosi and Dr. Rossana Torri,
participate in the CUHP network. CUHP a research network funded
by the EU. It brings together research teams from seven European
countries to discuss various aspects of researching homelessness.
The network will join in five workshops (2003-2005) and a final
conference planned in November 2005.

Prof. Rossella Salerno participates to the "Projet de Laboratoire
Epicentre, pour une gestion durable des territories: le paysage
federateur", a research program funded by the French Minsitry of
research and coordinated by Alain Suberchicot, at faculté des Langues
de l'Université del Lyon III.

Prof. Antonio Tosi, Dr. Massimo Bricocoli and Prof. Ota De Leonardis
(University Milano Bicocca) participate to a research seminar promoted
by Jacques Donzelot (Plan Urbanisme Construction Architecture -
Ministere de l'Equipément) and Anne Wyvekens (Institut des hautes
études de la sécurité intérieure) on the connections and interactions
among Social, Urban and Safety policies in some European countries.

Dr. Massimo Bricocoli, Dr. Paola Savoldi and arch. Giovanni Ginocchini
are involved in the research project "Urban and social insecurity:
a challenging theme and learning field for public policies and the
development of urban research in Italy" commissioned by the Plan
Urbanisme et Architecture, Ministere de l'Equipément, Paris (responsible
Prof. Pier Carlo Palermo).

Prof. Rossella Salerno recently participated to the interdisciplinary
research "Art Architecture Paysage" on the issue "Le pittoresque
aux limites du moderne", promoted by the French Ministry of Culture
and Communication and coordinated by Philippe Nys at Ecole d'Architecture
Paris la Villette.

In Spain, prof. Gaia Redaelli recently partecipated to the research
"Informe- Dictamen sobre el Fomento de la Arquitectura", promoted
by the Fundación Arquitectura Contemporánea with Region Andalusia
and aimed at exploring relations between contemporary architecture
and civil society in Andalusia.

Giulia Longo, PHD Student, from september 2003 to June 2004 has
worked at Humboldt Universitaet in Berlin, in the team guided by
prof. Hartmut Haeussermann, within SINGOCOM - Social Innovation,
Governance and Community Building, a EU research project funded
within the Fifth FP and dealt with the two case studies of Kommunales

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
JEAN
MONNET PROJECT 2004
The
Diap (Department of Planning and Architecture) has organized an
advanced Jean Monnet European Module training course, named “The
Process of Territorial Cohesion in Europe” within
the U.E. training and research programs. This training course deals
with the European Development Spatial Planning Scheme.
The course,
promoted by Diap and coordinated by Luisa Pedrazzini (Executive
of the Lombardy Region and Part-time Professor at the Milan Politecnico)
is divided in a series of one-day lectures, starting from the 1st
of October till the 15th of November 2004.
The teachers
were selected amongst Italian and foreign researchers with expertise
on European programs, policies and strategies. Consequently, a good
level of English is required to attend the course.
Application
The course is
intended for PhD students in planning and urban subjects (5 credits),
but it is also open to a maximum of 15 auditors, which will be selected
amongst young graduates, officials, public administration executives
and planning students in their 5th year or in the 2nd year of the
Master of Science.
The deadline
application is the 21 of September 2004.
